Semuc Champey consists of a series of naturally terraced pools branching off the Cahabon River and cascading through the forest. Nearby is a limestone cave through which the river runs. Declared a national monument, Semuc Champey is considered to be the most beautiful place in the department of Cobán, Alta Verapaz.

Semuc Champey is called the eighth wonder of the world. The first time you Semuc Champey is truly breathtaking. Semuc is a series of natural sparkling turquoise pools in the middle of the jungle, that form a bridge over a buried river which shoots out the other side. If it's hard to imagine, that's because it is just so unbelievable it beggars description. It's worth the detour from the main backpacker trail.

This is a beautiful set of swimming holes with cascading waterfalls that runs for about 1km. Underground runs a strong river which cuts into the limestone and exits back above ground.

1st day:

- Pickup at your hotel in Antigua Guatemala at 14:00,

- Transfer by shuttle bus direct to Lanquin. We make a stop in Coban to dinner (Dinner not included) then transfer to Hotel El Recreo.

2nd day:

- Breakfast (Not included) at 7 am; 8 am.

- Transfer by 4x4 shuttle to Semuc Champey.

- Visit the natural pools of Semuc Champey (lunch near the park not included).

- Rappel.

- Tubing Down.

- 16:00 visit the famous caves Las Marias.

- 18:00 transfer to your hotel in Lanquin.

3rd day:

- 8:00 transfer to coban for breakfast.

- 9:30 - 10:30 visit the biotope el Quetzal.

- 12:00 return direct by shuttle bus to Antigua Guatemala (lunch on the road not included).

- 17:00 arriving in Antigua Guatemala.
